Media review on Mamma Mia

Mamma is a story about a bride to be trying to find her real father, and this story is told by using hit songs from the 70’s, by the very popular 70’s group Abba.

The film, and musical mamma Mia is set on a Greek Island, but the plot on many different backgrounds for a range of different Abba songs, a young woman Named Sophie Sheridan discovers in her mother’s diary that she has three possible fathers, Bill, Harry, and Sam, she decides to invite them to her wedding.

Mamma Mia is a true story based on love and romance. Sophie and her fiancée Sky decide on the day of their wedding not to get married at their own wedding but Sophie’s mother Donna Decides to get married to her former lover Sam, who then Sophie find out at her own wedding which is Sam.

Sophie tells these three men that she wants to surprise her mother Donna on her wedding day. Suddenly when Donna see’s Harry, Bill and Sam, she suddenly has a flash back about her past and what happened before her daughter Sophie was born. Sophie tells her real father Sam that he should ask Donna out on a date, but donna says to Sam she’s too busy to go out on a date with him, then Sam to bring the date to her. Donna and Sam look over and reminisce all the old times and take a very long time trip down memory lane.

The film gives a very good impression, this is a must see film and musical, this is a very uplifting film.

The audience for the film, can be for parents, children of any ages, it can be also for couples who enjoy watching musicals, and films about romance. This film is a roller coaster of a film.

The characters of the film show a lot of passion during the film and also during the musical. The two main characters Amanda seyfried, and Meryl Streep are both trying to find Sophie’s real Father, who Sophie is led to believe is Sam.

The film has a really good and powerful outtake on the audience, it makes the audience feel like they are in the film themselves.

The film is also a  ransom of romance  these people who love romance.

Stephen Lawrence Murder 1993

Stephen lawrence before he died. he was a very bright and talented young man  

Stephen Lawrence was born on the (13^th of September, 1974- at the Greenwich district hospital, London England.

Lawrence was murdered but the public believed that the outcome to this tragic case was a shock for all of the western world. There were feelings of remorse and heart break expressed by the public, because there was a clear indication of racism that still exists today. People believed that racism is existent today which was sad.

As a very young child, Stephen demonstrated an interest in art: he always loved to draw and paint. He was a very keen learner: he was good at most academic subjects at school, but he was at his best when he was doing art and maths.
As well as his very keen interest in design, he was also a young businessman, he had set up his own business with his best friend. He even worked as a film extra alongside Denzel Washington in the film “For Queen and country”.
Lawrence decided to use all of his different skills and qualities, talents in art and design, to aim for his potential university place studying what he enjoyed which was architecture, and this was the thing he was most passionate about in the whole wide world. All of this was leading up to bright G.C.S.E results. His caring, loving and supporting family found him work experience, with the most famous architect, Arthur Timothy’s well know practice.

The case of his death had become a cause of destruction and it was one of the highest profile racial killings in the United Kingdom’s history. Its fall out had included a very profound difference in culture changes to all attitudes on racism and defining of the police practice.
The two perpetrators were almost convicted 20 years later in the year of 2012, and this is a probable cause for the Lawrence’s family still trying to deal with Stephen’s death and racism in the United Kingdom.

Yes, the world has dealt with Stephen’s death in its own way, and this also means that the world is still living on Stephen’s memory and before he was murdered in April 1993.

Talented Stephen had been murdered on the 22^nd of April, 1993 at the age of 18.
The Lawrence family are stilling trying to come to terms with young Stephen’s death. This also shows that the killers of this very important young man, who had a very bright future ahead of him, was victimised because he was a black teenager.
The Lawrence family re still trying to fight for justice over Stephen’s death. Although the killers of Stephen were sent to jail in the year of 2012, the parents and family of young Stephen Lawrence still have not been brought to justice.

Evidence had stated throughout the Stephen Lawrence murder trial that the killers had seemed like they did not care about what they were doing whilst callously killing and also victimising young Stephen. The Lawrence case has received a lot of publicity, when the case had fist started in the 1990s and until now.

Stephen’s parents had a confused reaction into why Stephen had been murdered. Doreen and Neville both believed that the attack against their son Stephen should not have been committed because Stephen was out with a few friends and was not doing anything wrong. 

Dobson and Norris were both found guilty of young Stephen’s murder who they had victimised when they 
racially attacked him. Both killers were sentenced on the 4^th of January, 2012 to detention at her majesty’s pleasure after a court hearing. After being sentenced they both tried repeatedly tried to appeal against their sentence.
    

The Lawrence family believe that Stephen’s killers Dobson and Norris have served their time in from the murder of Stephen Lawrence who was only 18 when he was murdered.

Furthermore there was a greater reaction from the press and Stephen Lawrence’s family and friends who were very close with him whilst he was younger, and at the time of his murder. And during the time of Stephen’s murder the Lawrence family had to sit and watch the trial to find out the outcome of what happened. 
Stephen’s killers Dobson and norris is had done on the night of the 22^nd of April,1993.

The Lawrence family’s reaction to Stephen’s death was very strong.
The Lawrence family lost a valued member of its family. 
Stephen was a much respected young man. The parents of the young Stephen were worried and confused about why Stephen was murdered.

The trial had affected the Lawrence family in a very emotional way because they had become face to face with Stephen’s killers, and this, had made Doreen and Neville Lawrence angry  and confused and even very upset because of the way their son Stephen had been taken away from them at the young age of 18.

Stephen’s killers Dobson and Norris and the other suspects whilst in court had not shown any remorse for killing young Stephen.

In conclusion, Stephen Lawrence’s murder had impacted so many people in and around the United Kingdom and Jamaica, where young Stephen’s family had grown up. 
Stephen had visited Jamaica many times throughout his life, and after Stephen had died. His body had been buried in Jamaica because this is where his parents Doreen and Neville Lawrence wanted to put their son’s body to rest.

During the time Stephen Lawrence was murdered the police had co-corrupted during the time of the investigation. And this had shown through different cases even after Stephen Lawrence was murdered. 

The other cases that the police had corrupt, and the person who was also killed in the same ways as Stephen Lawrence was Daniel Morgan, who was killed by an axe outside a pub in 1987. 

In both cases the cops had been corrupted in many different parts of these cases. 
All of these police officers had been arrested and sent to jail for perverting the cause of justice in these two cases, the Stephen Lawrence murder trial, 1993, and the Daniel Morgan murder case 1987.

Rosa Parks Fight for Freedom...

Rosa Louisa McCauley was born on February 4^th 1913, in Tuskegee Alabama United States.  She died on October 25^th 2005, age 92. She was a Civil Rights activist, was very well- known for her part in the bus boycott in her home town of Tuskegee Alabama. She then became Rosa Louise McCauley Parks, when she married her husband Raymond Parks from 1932-1977. She was known by the United States congress as “The First Lady of civil rights “and the mother of freedom the movement”. She was then arrested on February 4^th on, her birthday.

December 1^st, became Rosa Parks Day, commemorated in the States of California and Ohio, where she had been very well known for her fight for freedom during the time of the bus boycott. The civil rights movement in America had spared many different views, but most of the views in the 1960s were biased depending on the government at the time. This could have only meant one thing which Rosa Parks, and Martin Luther King had in common was that they both were fighting for freedom for their fellow African American.

Rosa Parks was an African American activist, fighting for the rights of African Americans in America during the 1960s.The story of the bus boycott is very well- known by many different people across the word.   Rosa Parks had just finished work and she was tired the only seat that was available on the bus was in the white only section; Rosa felt that she was no different from a white person so she sat down. The bus driver saw that Rosa sat down in whites only section he told her repeatedly that she was not allowed to sit in the white person’s seat. Rosa was adamant that she was not going to get up her feet was hurting from standing the shop where she worked all day and she was tired. When Rosa continued to refuse to get up the bus driver called the police, the police turned and arrested Rosa parks for sitting in a white person seat.Rosa Parks was taken jail where she spent one time. This was what brought on by Rosa parks’ fight for freedom for African Americans in the USA.

The consequences behind Rosa Parks’s actions was  that she was arrested for voicing her opinions about the reasons why she wanted to fight for freedom. The reasons of her being arrested were because when she was protesting, and trying to be the voice of reasoning.

The reasons behind Rosa Parks’s actions was that she tired from a very long day at work. Rosa Louise mc McCauley parks had been taking part in the Montgomery bus boycott in Alabama, which showed she was fighting for her country.

All the tremendous work that Rosa Parks had done during the 1960s has improved America today and will continue to do so. Rosa parks will be remembered today for all the hard work which she had done in the 1960’s.

During the 1960 when Rosa Parks was alive she was not the only black person to be arrested for not following the rules. This was caused by Rosa Parks was a very well respected member of the United States congress, and she was also known as the mother of freedom.  The other reason this had happened however this was because other black people were also involved in the movement, which means that the movement of America had changed at the time racism had ended.

Martin Luther King Jr was also arrested for the number of years which was 27.  

This shows that the famous people who were fighting for freedom during the 1960’s had made it seem that America at the time would have been different then to how it is now.  This shows that Martin Luther King was a very well respected man who was appreciated, the reason he was appreciated was because of his great contribution he had made in America in the 1960s. That he had contributed to all of America in the 1960’s,

Runding off the point about Rosa Louise McCauley parks

Even before Rosa Parks had died in of October, 2005 she was fighting a freedom activist, very courageous woman, and a very well determined woman,

Segregation had begun in America in the 1960’s, keeping African Americans and whites separate. However, Martin Luther King JR was to be credited person in which he was helped to end the segregation in America at the time of the 1960’s. (Used from the internet and in my own words). There had been many different aspects of segregation that included:

In many different aspects of segregation had included separate bathrooms for blacks and whites, separate public swimming pools and beaches, separate seating areas on buses, and separate schools for black and white students, and separate army units for black and white me, (which had then existed until the Vietnam war). However there were separate parts of the cities to live (ghettos- which do still exist, but even though the main factor of this is even more poverty than racism today). It was almost very prominent that in the southern states, but which still very much exists in some northern states- for example, in the state of New York city, there two YMCA buildings one for blacks and whites which meant that they were both being separated between the top opposite groups. The African Americans have today fully achieved equality, which means the in education, the workplace, and different treatment before the law.

Martin Luther King’s Jr’s reaction to racism in the 1960’s

Martin Luther King JR was a black African American activist who lived in the state of Alabama.  However when martin Luther King was protesting in Montgomery his protesting lead him to be arrested for 27 years.

Martin Luther king JR’s reaction to racism in the 1960’s in Montgomery Alabama had caused a lot of up- hevel because he was not supposed tobe protesting in Alabama because he wanted to make America and most of the United States equal, and so that it could be a better place for people to live in.

 The reason King was protesting in Alabama is because he wanted America to become more equal showing that he was looking after hi country, and making sure it would become equal,. It happened when the black and white people were allowed to be together and working in the same place as each other.

In conclusion to all of this, the 1960’s was the time of racism and difficulty for many different types of people across America. There were hardly any punishments for these people in America, who were found being racist to their fellow men and women in America it. For instance there many people were trying to fight for freedom and also against racism in America. These included Rosa Louise mc Cauley Parks, Martin Luther King JR, Marie Curie, Malcolm X and many other different influential people in America. Other influential peoplealso included Stephen Lawrence who was murdered because he was black, this meant that at the time of 1960’s and today are still times of racism.

The reason to why these famous people are recognised is because of what they have achieved in all of this around the United States.  These people had no doubt have made sure that the United States of America and the United Kingdom have become of one. As they had to stay very united which meant that racism would not last throughout America. However, since segregation was introduced into America after racism had ended forty years ago according to some sources, but sometimes it still sometime happens legally. 

Rosa Parks on the bus sitting in  a white person's seat, and when she refused to move she was then later arrested, by the police, she had started protesting to say that she will not ever take the bus to work, she would start walking.

The history of the first children’s hospital opened its doors at 49 Great Ormond Street in 1852. Dr Charles West was the driving force behind it’s opening driven by high infant mortality decided to open this hospital so that no child looses  their his/ her life due to lack of proper care.

The first ever patient to be admitted and treated Great Ormond street hospital was Eliza Armstrong from Lisson Grove suffering from Phitis and Bronchitis. the first ever child to be admitted to Great Ormond Street Hospital was Two year old George Parr, who had catarrh and Diarrhoea which is not serious by today’s standards, but this was a time when 1 and 3 children born in London died before adulthood.

This brings me to my own experience at Great Ormond Street Hospital:

I was born at Whipps Cross University Hospital weighing 1lb1/2 oz. I was diagnosed with the condition Hydrocephalus a blockage of the ventricles (brain), with this condition I needed to have a major life saving operation, and this could only be performed at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital.

I stayed in hospital for at least 6 to 7 months so I could have time to recover from this operation, and my consultant thought it was time for me to go home,, so I could recover a bit more from this major operation. The hospital had sad I need to have regular check-ups at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital in the future.

The doctors and nurses played a very important part/ role in my life. Without their support and dedication to the children and their well being a lot of children including myself would not be here today. The donation you give too the hospital will help the hospital and the children very much. The money you give qill help the hospital buy new and specialised equipment that the doctors and nurses very desperately for treating very sick children.

The money you give will not only support the hospital, but also the parents who have to look after their sick children in the hospital. This money will help parents pay for accommodation at the hospital, as the parents spend all their time at the hospital with their sick children. Instead of going out to work, and earning a living, which includes. They have no choice.

I urge you to please try and support the hospital and these sick children who they look after.
